They are Peter McGlynn on lead vocals/rhythm guitar, Gary Faria on lead guitar, Kevin Hamblett on Bass guitar, and Tommy George on drums. Since 1998 this band has been tearing through the club scene playing shows every weekend anywhere from Boston to the Cape to Providence Rhode Island.

History Of The Band

1991 - Right out of high school Kevin Hamblett started looking for a band to get together with as a guitar player. Although Peter McGlynn graduated with Kevin at Coyle and Cassidy High School in 1991, Peter didn't join the band for quite a while. The first organized band that was formed was called Martial Law. This band included Nate Derosier on Guitar, Tommy George on drums, Neil Sullivan on rhythm guitar, and Kevin Hamblett on bass.

1992 - After a few bad shows and a couple of rented ELKS halls the band slowly started drifting apart. Neil decided to leave the band and get serious with college and his teaching career. Kevin wanted to do more original material. Nate and Tom still got together to play a few gigs with a band put together called Mercury Biplane. They played a couple of shows at a bar at Stonehill College in Easton, MA but for the most part it didn't go anywhere. The same thing happened with Kevin and his new band Too Far Gone. He played with them for about a year or two and put out a demo tape, which no one will EVER hear again. The times were fun but very short lived.

1994 - Kevin tried his own original band, Tom now wanted his turn. His band Naked Savior traveled up and down the east coast playing at every place they could find trying to get signed to a record deal. They came close, as far as the #2 band on Nuno Bettencourt's (from Extreme) minor record label but fell short to another local band. In between Kevin played with a few side projects, one noted band was called Last Call.

1995 - After the break up of Naked Savior Tom was without a band. Kevin and Tom remained friends and tried to get a cover band together again. The year was 1995 when Tom introduced Kevin, on his 21st birthday, to The Irish Embassy in Easton, MA. There they found some great memories. It was there they actually got their start playing out every weekend. A band called the Buckley Band was the house band there. Tom was asked every now and then to get up and play a few songs with the band. He eventually replaced their band's drummer Dennis McMennemy. Kevin soon joined the picture playing bass guitar for The Buckley Band. Brian Buckley wanted to become just the lead vocalist and not a bass guitarist. The band had steady gigs Wednesday through Saturday nights, every week.

1996 - With the down fall of an era and the closing of the Irish Embassy Kevin would play his last time with the Buckley Band
on New Years Eve 1997. Tom continued with the band for a few months afterwards.

1997 - Kevin got a call from the former drummer of the Buckley Band, Dennis McMennamy, who wanted Kevin to start a band with him. This is where Kevin met Freeze Pop's 8 year guitar player Mark Delorme. They called the band Hung Jury.
Kevin was in a band with Mark Delorme, Tom was in the Buckley Band. Peter was still not around. Kevin and Tom's old guitarist from Martial Law, Nate, wanted to play again.  So finally the Buckley Band decides to break up and Tom is without a band again. Kevin is happy where he is but still wants to play with Tom again. So what does Kevin decide on doing. Why can't he have 2 bands!

1998 - Staying with Hung Jury Kevin decides to call Tom and former guitar player Nate Desrosier; and get a band back together with those guys. He has this brilliant idea of getting a female vocalist to do all the singing, and maybe drawing more of a male audience. The band they got together was called Chatterbox.  They found a great female vocal named Marjorie Rolls, Chatterbox played a few times in Boston and around the area but never really took off.

After the break up of Chatterbox Kevin, Tom, and Nate were left without a singer.  This band was a group effort and everyone has a few songs to sing as a power trio. What they did next was to finally call on there life long friend Peter McGlynn to help them out. Peter had been singing in the shower long enough and it was finally time to let him out. They couldn't agree on one thing though, and that was the name of the band.

Trivia: Where did they get the name Freeze Pop from. Well, they decided to go with the name The Freeze Pop Junkies after an Adult Film.....we aren't proud of it.........you got got it!!!   They did decide to drop the junkies part. We called all our groupies, Junkies.

Now Mark Delorme comes back into the picture. Well on Christmas 1999, after long bouts and disagreements, it was in Nate's best interests to leave the band. He was a graduate of Harvard, going to Brown, and wanting to continue his career. Now the band would need to find another guitar player again. Kevin would call on Mark Delorme, his old band mate from Hung Jury. From their first practice together it clicked.  They decided on a slight name change from Freeze Pop to The Freeze Pops.

8 Years Pass.........

2007 - After a strong 8 years together as a group Mark Delorme decided to retire.  We had a great 8 year run with Mark and he still is a great friend to all of us.  The Freeze Pops, as a group, still wanted to continue doing what they love, and that is to make music for our family, friends, and fans to party and dance to on the weekends.  The task was brought to the group of finding a guitarist / singer who could bring to the table the excitement, strong vocals, and friendship to which Mark Delorme had given the group over the last 8 years.  Tryouts continued all through the 2007 calendar, to which The Freeze Pops met some awesome guitar players and vocalists.  But when it all came down to it there was only one man who could fill the position and give Kevin, Peter, and Tom exactly what they were looking for.  That man was Gary Faria.  On New Year's Eve 2007 into 2008 Gary Faria official joined The Freeze Pops.  He has come from some great talented bands in the past which are listed below.
